So far, I have attended each and every work meetings in the school… through these meetings I have realized that even though we are in different countries when talking about teaching there are a lot of similarities and its problems are basically the same. This time I attended to CNM’s president’s convocation whom I had met a few days after my arrival since Guerry, Liz and I had been invited to have lunch with her… when I arrived she had been in that position for only a couple of months.
All CNM staff attended the Convo in the University theater I went there by bus with Carol Culver, my mentor. I think this event was the first of this kind for CNM , all the Deans gave brief speeches about their departments and in general, the human side of CNM was pinpointed, how through teaching there was a great impact in the lives of those who study in this college. There was a very moving speech from a CNM student that said how CNM had made the difference in his life.
After the convo we all had a picnic at a nearby park and after that we had our department meeting with Carol, who is the coordinator of all ESL teachers.
