Como habrán notado, he decidido escribir este diario en Ingles y en Español, pensando en mis amigos que hablan solo Español y en quienes hablan solo Inglés.
He aquí el inicio de la historia , despues de haber sido notificada de quien sería mi contraparte y haber aceptado participar en el programa de intercambio.

As you have noticed, I’ve decided to write this blog in English and Spanish –thinking about those friends that speak only Spanish or those that speak only English.

Here is the beginning of the story, after being notified who would be my counterpart and after having accepted participating in the Exchange Program.

Despues de haber hecho multiples tramites y arreglos para dejar Xalapa, finalmente viaje a la ciudad de Aguascalientes donde conocí a todos los compañeros maestros de México que participarían en el Intercambio Fulbright Basicamente nos la vivimos entre la Universidad de Aguascalientes y el hotel ya que estuvimos en una sesión muy intensa de trabajo por una semana en donde se habló de temas diversos como la educación en los EEUU, el uso de la tecnología y sobre todo cada uno de nosotros dio una micro clase que sirvió de base para abordar temas relacionados con la enseñanza…. La mayoría de los compañeros estarían enseñado Español a nivel secundaria y preparatoria mientras yo estaría a nivel universitario ensenado Inglés.


After having done lots of paperwork and arrangements to leave Xalapa finally flew to the city of Aguascalientes where I met all the other Mexican teachers that would take part In the Fulbright Exchange … we basically lived in the hotel and the university
since we were in a very intensive work session for a week, where we discussed various topics such as US education system, the use of technology and specially useful was that each one of us gave a micro class to the rest of the group, this was the starting point to open later discussions about teaching…. Most of my Mexican colleagues were going to teach Spanish either middle or high school, while I would be teaching English at university level. Here are some pictures of the group.
